U.N. inspectors are reporting that evidence of Iraq’s attempt to purchase nuclear materials through Niger is faked. Salon has an op ed about it. I am continually shocked at the false evidence and false arguments presented by the Bush Administration in favor of this war. A false piece of evidence: That Bagdad provides aid to al-Qaida (or under Bush’s new parlance “al-Qaida type organizations”, whatever that means).
A false argument: That we have to go to war, regardless of what the Security Council wants, to preserve the relevancy of the Security Council. Doublethink, anyone?
